För några veckor sedan hade jag ett NFC-chip implanteras i min hand, precis under huden. I den här videon använder jag chip för att passera Stockholm Arlanda flygplats, genom säkerhetskontrollen, i loungen, och slutligen genom porten till flygplanet.

Mitt NFC-chip innehåller mitt Scandinavian Airlines Eurobonus medlemsnummer, och eftersom flygplatsen har NFC läsare hela vägen från säkerhet porten, kan jag använda chip i stället för vanligt boardingkort.

This is just an experiment with no plans of actual public implementation. SAS has provided NFC tags to EuroBonus Gold members for a long time. The tag contains only the EuroBonus ID, in an encrypted format. Only SAS can write valid EuroBonus ID data to NFC tags. When traveling, you are always required to provide a valid ID when requested.

A few weeks ago I had an NFC chip implanted into my hand, just beneath the skin. In this video I use the chip to pass through Stockholm Arlanda airport, through security, at the lounge, and finally through the gate to the aircraft.

My NFC chip contains my Scandinavian Airlines EuroBonus member ID, and since the airport has NFC readers all the way from security to the gate, I can use the chip instead of ordinary boarding passes.

Halleluja, proklamerade de! Inget boardingkort krävdes för Andreas Sjöström, som blir den första personen att använda ny mikrochip-teknik för att bris genom en flygplats. Well, it’s happened. A man used an RFID microchip implanted in his hand to pass through airport security and the media reporters see nothing at all strange about it. Hallelujah, they proclaimed! No boarding pass was required for Andreas Sjöström, who becomes the first person to use new microchip technology to breeze through an airport. Dear Gaed, I’ve been predicting this for years and it’s already happened.
