Directions To Heaven: The Way, The Truth And The Life
Can a person truly know on this side of eternity if they will end up in Heaven? Do most people end up in Heaven, or do most people end up in Hell? Is there truly only one path or way to get to God and ultimately end up in Heaven? Those are great questions, and they can be answered from the Bible. The original disciples (followers) of Jesus Christ had many questions, and they were also troubled about many things, and the Lord knew that. Listen to what He told them here:
Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. (John 14:1-3)
The Lord told His closest followers not to be troubled. Each and every one of us has our own set of troubles, and we all need to be reminded of this promise that the Lord made to His followers. He told them that He was going to prepare a place for them, so that they could be where He is with the Father. That is truly good news for those who know the Lord and follow Him. But how can a person come to know the Lord, and the way to Heaven? That is the very question that the apostle Thomas had for the Lord, when He walked this Earth almost 2000 years ago:
And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:4-6)
What a statement did the Lord make there, in telling His followers that there would not be any who go to the Father, except they come through Him! That is the choice that must be made by every person on an individual basis. Have you made that choice yet? Are you a follower of Jesus Christ? Do you believe that He is the only way to Heaven?

/Maria
