Jag tror att Gud måste utföra ett verk i oss innan vi kan göra anspråk på något förbundslöfte. Vad är detta prejudikatarbete som alla andra är beroende av? Jeremia berättar för oss. “Jag ska lägga min fruktan i deras hjärtan, så att de inte ska vika ifrån mig” (Jeremia 32:40, NKJV).
Guds grundläggande verk i förbundet är att lägga sin fruktan i våra hjärtan genom den Helige Andes verk.
Jeremia talar här om bestämmelserna i Guds nya förbund, inte det gamla. Gud berättar mycket tydligt för oss hur detta första förbundsverk kommer att utföras. “Jag kommer att lägga min rädsla i deras hjärtan.” Han låter oss veta att vi inte kan skapa en helig rädsla /respekt/ genom handpåläggning eller vårt kötts strävanden. Nej, det enda sättet som detta heliga verk kan utföras i oss är om Guds Ande utför det.
Gud säger till oss genom detta ställe, “Jag kommer att göra underbara saker i dig. Jag kommer att sända min egen Ande för att förbli i dig och ge dig ett nytt hjärta.” Han kommer att ge dig kraft att döda alla köttsliga gärningar, och han kommer att vägleda dig till total frihet från syndens makt. Slutligen kommer han att få dig att vilja och göra hans välbehag.
Men det finns ett verk som Anden måste utföra i dig före någon av dessa andra. Han kommer att ge dig den sanna fruktan för Gud angående synd, en djup vördnad för honom och för hans Ord. Han kommer att ge dig en djup vördnad för sin helighet så att du inte avviker från hans bud. Annars kommer din synd alltid att leda dig bort från honom.
Helt enkelt förändrar den Helige Ande hur vi ser på vår synd. Han vet att så länge vi fortsätter att ta lätt på det kommer vi aldrig att bli fria. Hur gör den Helige Anden detta? Genom att använda Guds övertygande ord, den heliga sanningens genomträngande pilar.

You can see astronauts hanging from wires
Proving that astronauts and NASA are liars
They analyse photos and highlight mistakes
With the moon landing missions they show it was faked
You can see ’em faking the photos of earth
They use a round window to fake the curve

I watched another documentary called astronauts gone wild
Astronaut Buzz aldrin gets a little riled
All he was asked was to swear to god
That the he went to the moon but he would not
He was faced with a moon landing denier
Had a chance to show that he ain’t no liar
But buzz decided to punch that dude
Just for asking him to swear if he went to the moon
